Rail or road find the right transport for you here.

The main forms of transportation to the Blue Mountains are road and rail.
The journey by road from Sydney takes approximately 1½ hours. Parking is easy in the Mountains, so touring is a pleasant experience. However, allow extra time for possible delays because of road works due to the upgrade of the Great Western Highway .

Regular rail services run to the Blue Mountains. Go to ‘City Rail’ http://www.cityrail.info/
on the net for details of timetable and of any track work that might disrupt services.

A number of tour companies offer tours from Sydney to the Blue Mountains.

There are local buses in the Mountains and a ‘hop-on – hop-off’ Trolley bus service stopping
at nearly thirty popular locations in Leura and Katoomba. This service operates on a 60
minute cycle.  Go to ‘Blue Mountains Bus Company at www.bmbc.com.au for timetables.
Taxi services are good and available in every town and village.

In addition to car rentals in Sydney, these are also available in the upper Mountains.
