Discovering the Blue Mountains

Pre-history to modern day

The Blue Mountains offers an eclectic mixture of cultural pursuits representing both old and new.

Aboriginal culture and beliefs can be experienced with a visit to the Waradah Aboriginal Centre at Echo Point where you can view traditional dances and art, or via an escorted bush walk visiting spiritually significant sites.

In Faulconbridge you can visit the Norman Lindsay Museum and Gallery, former home of this famous Australian artist.

Throughout the upper Mountains there is a diverse choice of studio galleries in addition to galleries such as the exciting Katoomba Fine Art Gallery, as well as the Lost Bear Exhibition Space in Leura and the Falls Gallery in Wentworth Falls.  Visual art is shown in a fine array of paintings, drawings, sculpture, ceramics and other art forms at these, and other venues.

Music is represented by regular performances at a number of venues including regular ‘known name’ visiting performers at the Clarendon Guesthouse in the town of Katoomba.
